Bridal Self Care

Your event count-down is sure to bring excitement, but it may also include stress and a seemingly never-ending list of things to do.  We’ve seen too many couples (and their parents and best friends) arrive at the event day completely frazzled. How to avoid being a “burned-out bride” or “get-this-over-groom?”  Make a pamper plan!  Take some time to create a self-care strategy and stick to it!

  1. Create an intentional and specific schedule for rest, relaxation and special self-care treats during each day of the week leading up to the wedding.

  2. Make it a goal to complete as many of your “big” event tasks prior to the week of your event.

  3. If it’s possible to limit/reduce your professional work schedule the week of your wedding, do it.

  4. Delegate as many “week of event” jobs/responsibilities as you can to your bridal party or extended family members.

  5. Put a time limit on the daily “week-of-event tasks” you must complete.

  6. Let go of perfection. Most everything you’ve planned and worked to put together is sure to be great!  But rarely do events not have one or two small mishaps. If things don’t go EXACTLY as planned, try to smile, laugh and remind yourself that you will now have a lifetime story to share!

  7. Spend at least 1 hour each day remembering what the upcoming event is really all about...your partner and celebrating your commitment with those you hold dear.  Write a note, send a text or photo - and remind each other about how lucky you are to be in love!
