Wedding Memorials
Remembering special people on your special day can bring great comfort and joy. One of the sweet memorial surprises we had the pleasure of witnessing at The Abbey Estate was the presentation of a portrait to the married couple. The surprise gift was a painting which featured the couple in the middle and the deceased parents on either side of them. Not a dry eye in the place!
There are a variety of ways to demonstrate your love, respect and desire to include those who are no longer with you, including:
Memorial Tables/displays featuring photos, momentos and letters
Video tributes during the Rehearsal Dinner or Reception
Carrying “Something Old” in your bouquet or suit pocket; pinning something special to your dress or vest; or incorporating sentimental jewelry into your wedding attire
Placing a bouquet or single rose on specially reserved chairs during the ceremony
Offering a prayer, toast or story which includes deceased family members
Playing a tribute song or arranging for a special dance
Serving a fondly remembered drink or food item on your menu: “Nana’s Peach Tea” or “Dad’s Favorite BBQ”
